THE BUG (LARVA) BECOMES A BUTTERFLY

"Daughter, let’s go to the fields to trap butterflies,” a mother tells her daughter. The girl enthused looks for the net and hurries in getting dressed to accompany her mom on such an exciting adventure. They leave together to the field and began to look through the flowers for the prettiest and most colorful. The girl says, “Mommy look at the pretty butterfly I found.”

The mother responds, “How beautiful daughter and to think that before it was a simple grey bug and it crawled along the ground covered in dust and dirt. The daughter looks at her mom and sees that she is crying and says, “Why are you crying mommy?” “No my love I don’t cry because I am sad better yet it’s of joy.” “Why?” asks the daughter. “Because, I was that grey bug that used to crawl covered in dust and dirt. But then I was trapped by the power of the Holy Spirit and he worked in me in a special way and transformed me and gave me brilliant wings of freedom. Now I can fly free like these butterflies, with the freedom that Jesus gave me. The daughter looks at her mother with hundreds of questions in her little head. Finally, she asks, “You were a bug mommy? How is it that you are now my mom?” “Come, I will tell you”, says her mom. “Before I was your mom good and beautiful as you say I am, I was a little girl like you that used to go to church and heard the word of God. But I grew up and I strayed from the Lord’s way and that is when I was crawling in sin and the pleasures of this world, but Jesus took me out of that and made me a new creation. I was wrapped in a trap for a long time like butterflies before they can fly and the prayers of my mom where the ones God heard and the Holy Spirit worked in me and transformed me in a beautiful butterfy of many colors like the one you found and now I drink from the nectar that comes from God. His Holy Spirit feeds me and makes me grow. The mother then ran flapping her hands saying, "I am free, I am free, I can fly," and sang a song of praise. The daughter catches up to her and pleads, mommy, pray a lot for me like grandma for you so that I don’t turn into a bug when I grow up. I always want to be your "Butterfly". Mother and daughter continued searching for the most beautiful and colorful butterflies but later released them because butterflies are free just like you who read this story can be if you let Christ into your heart and he frees you of that trap that you are in and like me you will be a bug (larva) transformed into a butterfly, Free with the power of the Holy Spirit, the one that makes us free to serve the Lord.

2 Corinthians 3:17-18: Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect[a] the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. (NIV)

Christian parents, put yourself at the gap and pray for your children. Never cease praying for them so that they never part from the Lord’s way and if they have parted, then pray so that the Lord will bring them back again.

Ephesians 6:1-3 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise—"that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." (NIV)
